LABOR & DELIVERY UNIT

The Labor & Delivery unit at Seaport Memorial Hospital in Boston, MA will be designed into a comforting and healing space for patients and their families. The most important goal of this project is to give a healthy, nurturing and secure environment for the newborns and their parents. The new floorplan will allow for better productivity throughout and easily accessible spaces, with privacy for the staff and patients. The materials, furniture, lighting and artwork shown in this design will share the same elements as the concept photo, which beautifully represents pregnancy, Earth’s nature, and tranquility. These elements include warm blues, greens, oranges and purples combined with the unique shapes of circles and rays used throughout she space, that will be inviting for all ages visiting, especially children, while allowing for a beautiful, healing environment for patients and their newborns.
